Welcome to My Nerd Blog

This website is my first independent project, a playground where I test and develop my skills. So far, I’ve built several features using HTML and CSS, and the next step will be to add more interactivity with JavaScript. I have also linked my website to GA4 and GTM to experiment with tracking, event measurement and data analysis.

This blog will be where I document my journey and share my insights. I’m currently studying to become a Digital Analytics Specialist at IHM Business School, where the pace is intense, each course lasts only four weeks! To truly solidify my knowledge and continue developing my skills, I will use this blog. I have a plan of everyhing I want to learn independently this year, more about this below.

In mid-August 2024, I packed my bags and moved from Stockholm to Malmö. Interestingly, 2024 was
actually my first time ever visiting Skåne, just two months earlier, I was on vacation in Simrishamn, completely unaware that I would soon become a Skåne resident! Well, not entirely unaware. I had applied to IHM’s Digital Analytics program in every city where it was available. The most important thing for me was to become a Digital Analyst, where that would happen didn’t matter as much. Luckily, I’ve been having an amazing time here in the south of
Sweden!

First minutes in Malmö

You could say I have ambitious plans for the next coming months. My Finnish genes don’t recognize the Swedish word lagom, I go all in!

I have created an independent study plan to complement my education and reach my goals:

  •  AI & Machine Learning – In February, I’ll take a course to better understand how AI can be used in the workplace and start exploring machine learning.
  • JavaScript, SQL & Python – I will deepen my knowledge of these languages on my own to strengthen my technical skills.
  • Adobe Analytics – Since our school curriculum only covers Google Analytics, I want to learn the basics of Adobe Analytics independently.
  •  Power BI – A new tool for me, and I’m excited to master it.
  •  Blog Project – Here on the blog, I’ll document my progress, share insights, and showcase small projects I build along the way.

In addition to my self-studies, we have seven courses at school this term (more on those later in the blog). I’m also looking forward to several inspiring events where I can network and meet people from the industry. It’s always exciting to exchange experiences and gain insight into how things really work in the professional world! I usually share my reflections on these events on my LinkedIn page.

And then, after the summer, it is time for my first internship in September, nerve wracking but exciting! If you have any recomendations for internship,
feel free to reach out!

This will be an intense but fun spring, and I can’t wait to share my journey here on the blog!
